"Logged into steam, but not logged in"

So I launched the app on my desktop and everything is normal, I can talk to friends, play games and do most things normally. However...

I cannot "edit profile" like the option is not there, since I am not "logged in"
Also, when I got to use the market, make forum discussions or review games etc, it says I need to sign in. But when I clicked the "sign in" text it loads then gives an error.

I had this problem a week or 2 ago, it seemed to fix itself, as it was working normally just this monday. I did lose internet all of tuesday this week, so maybe that has something to do with it? IDK.

Just kind of annoying. It works on the website in a browser, which is how I made this post. But like I said, the desktop app for steam wouldn't let me since i'm not logged in.

Any more ideas? Steam isn't exactly known for their "support" considering, I tried these the first time it happened and it didn't work, it seemed to go away on its own last time.

I have read other posts of this happening to people in past years, it seems to usually resolve it self. But the fact that it happens in the first place its absurd.
