I am having trouble connecting to Steam on Windows 10 (Home Edition) after updating Windows on 25-Sep-2017. This is what the log says:

[2017-09-27 16:46:32] Shutdown

I also noticed a few other apps like Kaspersky and Driver Easy are failing to connect to their servers to install updates.

I can confirm that another computer in this same network running Mac OS X is NOT having problems with Steam.

By the way, the -tcp trick didn't work:

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\Steam.exe" -tcp

What can I do?

Solution:

On Windows, open:

Internet Properties -> Connections -> LAN Settings

Make sure that in Automatic Configuration the Automatically detect settings box stays UNCHECKED.

You're my hero! I'm trying to get Steam working for 26 hours for now. I've checked EVERY SINGLE OPTION in my router settings. And nothing.
