Can't redeem a gift from a friend who's same region/country as me!

So a friend gifted me Escapist 2 but when i try to redeem it its says "This item cannot be added to your library because it is restricted from your country", but we are literally in the same region/country (he was beside me when he bought it) What is going on? How do i fix this?

I think it depends on what currency he bought it in and what region is your steam.

Maybe your ISP gives you IP that appears to be from another country? Try to log in from you friends's computer to redeem it

We use same currency and store region.

We bought it using the steam app on his phone.. but ill give it a try
