Windows 10 anniversary update issue still exists after fall creators update
Plz read this if u got time. This issue is a real pain in the a**.Back when anniversary update (creators update) was released I immediately updated my windows 10 and noticed that my framerate in fallout new vegas was effected.Cs go was locked to 60fps and was running at 60-45fps.Some games weren't effected but most games had horrible framerate.Searched google ,stumbled upon a reddit thread and there a microsoft employee actually replied and told that the issue is full screen optimizations. He said go to gaming section in settings and untick use game mode for games microsoft has verified and that will disable full screen optimization for all games.Did that and some games got normal as before but some were still having issues.Searched google someone said disable full screen optimizations for each game exe file.Did that and fallout new vegas and some other games got norma like before but still in cs go i was locked at 60fps.Now cs go itself told me to disable dvr and i did that and cs go got playable like before.
When they released fall creators update they said all performance issues will be fixed.Did that update ,now recently I installed life is strange to check this game out and my fps were only 25 to 30 even with fall creators update,I checked gaming section in settings and use game mode for game microsft has verified was unticked. Then I got to game exe disable full screen optimization and viola back to 60 72 fps.Seriously what the hell is going on can someone explain to me.Now the average pc gamer can get away and solve these issues but what about other casual gamers out there ? Who just want to install and play there games.
My advice even to those who own high end rigs try disabling full screen optimizations on every games exe file and in settings of gaming untick show game bar for games microsoft has verified as this one option was causing horrible fps in gta v.It may increase ur fps.Windows 10 is horrible for casual pc gamers

The issue is that you didn't uninstall your GPU drivers before installing the update. Always uninstall GPU drivers before the big seasonal updates and reinstall once updated.

That being said, you can uninstall and reinstall your drivers now for a similar effect.

Dude I clean installed my gpu drivers before proceeding with the updates ,the issue i want to highlight is that many users are not aware of this issue mostly the users with high end gpus coz even with these problems they manage to pull 60+ fps but disabling full screen optimizations for every game exe and using fullscreen not exclusive fullscreen will improve there fps even more

The reason the Anniversary Edition still exists is to provide legacy support for devices that use the Intel Atom. We're talking netbooks...

you can find your computers drivers under your computers website usually. if your windows installation did not get them.

Well yea, always do that. Don't get them through Windows Updates.

Does it matter?

Download Win10 64bit 1709 and clean install it and go from there...
