Recording video?
I recall one could make in game videos within steam, in fact I remember doing it, and I remember that sometimes a tip appeared while loading a game saying that one could do it. However I have forgotten what the hotkey to start recording was. When I google it I only get suggestions to use other programs like Fraps, Afterburner etc. How to record videos using only steam?

Steam never had a recording feature. It can broadcast/stream you playing, but that's it.

Oh? Must have dreamed it then... I remember it was something similar to taking a picture with F12, and actually gave a choice between recording and just taking a picture. Hmmm...

Maybe you're confusing it with Windows GameDVR which you can use with Win+G

Either the GameDVR as mentioned above, or then Nvidia Share. (ALT+Z)

Must be one of those, although I do recall it was suggested by steam itself while loaading a game.
