Owning games you don't really own (free weekends and such)

So, last weekend was the elder scrolls online free weekend along with a sale for the game (as free weekends normal have) my friend wanted to buy me the game, cause im a cheep buttmunch and have made it clear to him that i will only buy games that interest me and that game wasn't on the list. well since it was on sale and he gave up on telling me to buy it he was going to buy it for me... anyways thats besides the point

IMPORTANT PART

He was about to buy the game for me, but couldn't because since it was the free weekend the game was marked as "owned" for me and he couldn't. and im going to assume that the game is no longer "owned" by me now that the free weekend is over, but now the sale is over as well. i would like to bring this to your attention in hopes that you either fix or mayhaps even have a rule where a sale lasts a day longer than the free weekend to fix this issue... but whats important now is that he and effectively me where♥♥♥♥♥♥blocked by your gifts system and was wondering if i could get a 50% off coupon (sale price) with no trade delay to give to him or give one to my friend directly, i may be a big meanie of a friend but im not enough of one to post his steam url into a public forum so the first option is preferred (if this is at all even posable). i just feel cheated out by the broken algorithm

ok so if not deleted the files in 86 from the free one that where left behind the steam will give a already have it pop up need to go into the 86 to remove and delet the free eso files then the gift one will work and say you own the game this go for all free games and a friend send one as a gift and the non free games you buy for self

Uh, no. Actually, all the OP needed to do was revoke the licence that covered the free weekend. In future, go to your account page, click the link for viewing your licences and remove the complimentary licence for the free weekend game.

i checked and there was none, but i literly just found out about them by reading these replys... is it removed automaticly when a free weekend ends?
