And how did your PC crash exactly? Hard freeze, blue screen etc..
If you indeed took out a RAM module and that fixed your crashing issue it might be dead. Plug it back in and test it with memtest86.
How does it crash exactly?
+1 or is using enough space to encounter a sector error on your hard drive run checkdisk would be my guess one of these two
-Intel Core. i5 7th generation 7600K 3.80Ghz.
-16Gb of RAM
-GTX 1060. 6GB (graphics card)
-MSI Motherboard Z170A GAMING M5.
-Samsung SSD 125GB. (Internal Hard Drive).
-WD My Book 2.5TB. (External Hard Drive).
-OS Windows 10 Home 64 bit.
-Internet Speed 10Mbs (just to mention).
btw do you know "prime 95" benchmark test. you can stress your pc, but the gfx board, very much...and research whats wrong with your pc...
location of your steam games? i think there is problem in your external drive if you are saving steam games there.
