I tried it both the ways; disabled and enabled it, didn't work.

Then do it on your Mic Array again. Then disable Stereo Mix
No, I still have problem with internal microphone with Steam.
I bought new microphone and use that for voice chat.
You first check if your microphone is working from both sides, i.e., both left and right mic should be active (for internal laptop microhone).
Steam only accepts sound if your mic is working from both sides.
To check that just record anything with your voice and listen that recording, if voice is audible majorly from one side then your mic is broken, buy a new one.
If mic is working perfectly, just download audio drivers compatible to your motherboard/laptop model from your manufacturers website. Windows 10 updates cause these problems.
You can see this video I found on YouTube, the uploader had same problem.
He has also mentioned the same solution, do try it.

Don't report this to Steam Support; it's useless, they send a reply with no solution.
Not for your PC issues. Thats what forums are here for.
