How do I install DLC?
I'm in the DLC menu for my game, I keep double clicking on it but it doesn't give me any window to install. How do I do this? Why is it so compicated lol I don't understand why I can't just click on it and install it :steamfacepalm:

You should post on the hubs of whatever game it is that you're talking about.

Generally DLC is downloaded alongside the game on Steam. You can see the tickbox under [View Downloadable Content] if you right mouse click the game on your Steam -library.

So you're telling me I have to uninstall the game and reinstall it for the DLC?

Outlast, I got the Whistleblower DLC free and am trying to install it.

No, that's not what I'm saying.

What I'm saying is that the DLC should already be installed.

If my memory serves me right, there just is a button called [New Game: Whistleblower] on the game's main menu. Just like in this Google image:

I got Whistleblower from Humble Bundle too, but I played it far before that (as I just removed the base game from my library [temporarily]; and got the game [and the DLC] shared from a relative of mine.) Point of this being, it's been a long time since I played it.

Check if it is shown on the library page of your game.
If it isn't but you activated the key, contact support.
If it is, check if it is shown as installed on the library page of your game.
If it isn't, restart steam or right click on the game, ->properties -> local files -> verify game files OR check the box (or unche and recheck) 'installed' for the DLC.
If it is. The DLC is already installed.

I had Outlast years before getting the DLC, so they didn't install together. I figured it out, had to uninstall the game and reinstall. No other method worked.

That's what I was saying, that in the library section it said I had it but it was uninstalled, and no matter what I do I can NEVER get it to install DLC for any game I play. I have to uninstall the game and reinstall if I want the DLC regardless of what game it is.

For me, I need to tick the check box in install/not installed in dlc list.

There is an easier solution: if you go to the download page on the Steam client (where you can view current downloads and games that need updating), you can manually update products you own.
