Why do I keep getting notifications when people comment on other users profile?

Im not subscribed to their profile comment section... I just get a notification when someone else comments after I have and its annoying.

How do I stop other than the obvious answer of "not commenting on peoples profiles" ?

You only get comment notifications if:

A. You subscribed to their comments.

Or

B. The profile's owner comments within the next 3 replies.

OP is not talking about forum notifications.

On the profile page above the field where you can write the comment there is the option to follow the discussion. If the box is ticked, you will receive a notification each time a person comments on that profile.

No. This box is called differently. And if you read the OP you would know that they didn't tick that.

OP, I do not know of any way to solve this. Guess you just have to deal with it

Are you following that user?

check, uncheck, check, uncheck the "comments subscribe to thread" box at the bottom of their profile. This works for me.
