Cannot change download region to Lan Event USA

iv been consistently getting good speeds in Lan Event USA's download server but cannot connect to it anYmore :(
none of the lan event regions are working....
Used to get Upto 11mb/s on the lan event USA server same as my download speed on uPlay and Origin... but when connected to India - Mumbai (the server closest to me) i get 100kb/s.
.....
also... donno if it helps.... when selecting LanEvent USA and after steam restarts... it automatically resets to India - Mumbai.

Sounds like Steam doesn't want you to use that region. It might be old and unused.

but thats the only region that works for me as my download speeds everYwhere else are ♥♥♥♥♥♥ </3

I can't use that region either, it resets when restarting. It's probably intentional.

What are the speed differences? How slow does it go everywhere else?

I literally have a 1mb/s plan....
But still get around 11 on uplay and origin....

Sounds like your internet is the issue here and not Steam..

What if you just pick a normal region in europe or USA or something?

Again, this is way beyond steam if you pay for way slower internet than you are getting..

If you're paying for 1mbit/s then 100kbyte/s is about that speed.
If you got faster than that before then your ISP made a mistake probably...
I can't see why that fast.com would go faster..

Your ISP (internet service provider) must be real bad at limiting your speed to what you pay for or you are mistaken about something.

Can you link a result to from speedtest.net ?

1.16 to be precise
But you won't believe it... Iv got 10+mb/s while downloading on steam and origin 2gether at the same time ... EACH... So a total of approx 22mb/s
....
And there is no sense beating around the bush on this topic so let's just hope steam gets back the downLoad region or else... I'm basically.... ♥♥♥♥♥♥ X(

i do ocationally get good bursts of speed on the East Africa server... do try it out....

guessing you have 5net tOoo :P
switch to East Africa server.... i get boosts of 10-11mb/s over there...
but then it drops ocassionally... so you have to restart steam to get it back up.....

But i am not able to Override the download region. I change and after restarting the steam it again Selects the nearest region
