is it possible to continue steam download on another computer?
i'll be out of town till this weekend and im bringing my laptop with me, is it possible to continue the ongoing download of my game on my desktop to my laptop? what files do i need to transfer?

The files under steamapps\downloading\

Copy the appropriate appmanifest -file too (if present).
i.e. http://steamcommunity.com/app/440/ <- Team Fortress 2 -> appmanifest_440.acf

See if there's a folder under steamapps\common\


Although, if you don't mind leaving your PC on, you could just finish the download and shut down your computer remotely with something like Chrome Remote Desktop.

no one will be left at home so i cant risk having my PC on, for safety purposes.

btw, the game we're talking about isnt installed in the laptop yet, so should i install it for before copy-pasting the files, or the reverse, or does it matter at all really which one to do first?

Is this about a download, or an update?

If it's an update, then do transfer the base game first.

Its appmanifest -file and the game's folder from under steamapps\common\
