Cant click anything on steam when open [Windows 10]
I have been having this issue where i cannot click on anything on steam. The steam app is open but when i try to click something, i click 'through' the steam page and onto my desktop leading to me opening apps that i had not intended.

Normally i have to end task for steam and relaunch for this to be fixed. It normally happens after i close a game, most notably with TF2

Why is this happening and does anyone know a fix?

Not had it for a while. There are a few simple and quick ways to fix it without closing and reloading.

Alt + Tab to something else then Alt + Tab back to Steam.
Windows key + D (will minimise Steam) then click Steam icon on your taskbar.

This bulls!!!!!!#"#! happens to me on my 2nd monitor, can't even move the window to the 1st monitor or 3rd monitor, when I click it, it just opens or moves the stuff on the desktop, as if the steam wasn't there opened, need to re-start steam. FIX THIS, So incredibly tilting ffs -.-

It might have to do with display scaing. Right click the desktop...select Display settings...Make sure scale is set to 100%.

in worst you can try "clear" the steam installation. You DONT lose installed games, google it. But do that only if no other fix work. its the last resort.

I recently have started having this same issue, after playing a game i cant click on anything in steam. Task manager says all is fine. Have to kill steam and restart it.

Windows + D works for me. It closes all tabs and pressing it again reopened them. Give it a try

the above fix isnt a proper fix, this is a windows problem

What can I do for it then?

The above method of alt tabbing or windows key +D the switching back works therefore it is a fix. Not a solution, preventative. It's a workaround solution, fix.

What is your 'proper fix'? Oh wait you didnt post one. Just came to tell posters that offered workarounds, fixes they are wrong. Despite the fact its works without needing a reboot.

Same issue. So far I have been able to get it working again by clicking on the steam tab on the task bar a number of times and it will suddenly start working for a while, but quit after i start clicking in different windows. I know this happens on my secondary monitor but I'm not sure about my main display.

I have found a fix! [Only if you have 2 or more monitors] ALT-TAB onto the Steam Window, then do WINDOWS+SHIFT+<ARROW KEY> [Arrow key in the direction of the subordinate monitors] It worked for me such that I am able to interact with Steam again. Try it.
