Using it on a multiplayer game is probably not a problem, but who knows.
i use it, or SAM to idle games to get trading card drops. And never had a problem. Of course, these are all single player games i'm just idling for trading card drops. If you are idling a game for some sort of in-game item.. or in-game reward.. or some other cheater-y reason you may indeed be banned or in trouble.
BUT who knows if your experience will be different :) i don't want to say it's 100% safe, but.. i *personally* think using Idle Master or SAM to idle humblebundle type games for trading cards is 99.9999% safe. But that's just my personal opinion based on my own experience.
But, since Valve has made no statement about using 3rd party programs like that being "okay when idling for cards", there's no 100% guarentee it's safe tho.
i do think SAM can get you in trouble for cheating multiplayer game achievements (that give you in game rewards) tho. i've never done that, however, so i have no experience.
i used SAM for idling trading cards because i heard of it first. i didn't hear of Idle Master until like a year ago, but since i'd already been using SAM for the same thing for a whole year i didn't bother changing to using something else.
But to be safe you could/should maybe err on the side of caution and use the other programs mentioned.
Afterall, just because i haven't had a problem using SAM for idling trading cards for 2 years doesn't mean you won't end up having a problem when using it.
