HELP! My games are appearing as uninstalled!
Hello fairly new to steam, not sure if this is even the right place for this post. Anyways, i was updating PUBG one night, closed it for the night as im deployed and the internet is terribly slow. Went to continue the download the next morning and all of my steam games were uninstalled. I went through the usual just try to play and it will find the files and fix it self, nothing. Tried to repair and clear the cache, nothing. I'm stumped any help would be greatly appreciated.

tried everything here, except my folders are there and they have data they just aren't being recognized. when I try adding the steam folder to my Steam>settings>downloads>steam library folders it keeps telling me that the new file needs to be empty.

Ensure nothing is updating when you initiate the existing-file-discovery process.

Attempt to launch the game through its executable and see if that triggers Steam to pick it up.

Tried that too, that was my first plan of action, still nothing.

Just as a future note,
To ensure that you do not encounter this issue, always allow Steam to close properly when shutting down your computer. Allowing Windows to force Steam to close when it is writing to a hard drive may cause Steam library and installation information to become corrupted.
See this list,

If you're on Windows 7. You could right mouse click your Steam -folder -> Properties -> Previous Versions. See if you can fetch one before the corruption including the appmanifest files.

Otherwise I'd probably just reinstall the games; or use SteamCMD to recreate the appmanifest files.

Given this is a secondary installation location you're having issues with. You can add it by modifying this file too:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\libraryfolders.vdf

For example, mine
"LibraryFolders" { "TimeNextStatsReport" "UNIX timestamp" "ContentStatsID" "StatsID" "1" "E:\\Games\\SteamLibrary" "2" "D:\\Games\\SteamLibrary" }

ok sorry not the most tech savy, so in order to add the secondary install place to this, how do I go about this?

Double click libraryfolders.vdf and choose to open it with WordPad.

Manually add in the path.

Say your second library location is in E:\Games\SteamLibrary

You'd exit Steam.

Add this to the libraryfolders.vdf,
"1" "E:\\Games\\SteamLibrary"

Save it, restart Steam.

Tried it, reopened steam. The games are still appearing as uninstalled and still trigger a full 6-9gb download depending on the game.

Then try what I edited in above before you quoted my post.
