1060 is perfect for 1080P gaming, 1440P will do, but higher res gaming a GTX 1070 is recommended.
Inferior FPS to what you'd get with the same (new) CPU with a better GPU, in otherwords.
On a tight budget, you might not want to take such a big leap (since i5-7600K will require you a new board (LGA1151; versus your current LGA1155) and new RAM (DDR4 instead of DDR3).
I personally still use i5-2500K (LGA1155) for the same reason, which is the same socket (and RAM type) as yours.
