Bypassing phone steam guard?
I have no phone. I want to start trading in TF2. I started a trade. It was cancelled. Person said "Get Steam on your phone." I said I have no phone. I launched Bluestacks. I got steam. It asked for your phone number on Steam Guard. I then contacted steam support and they did nothing.
Is there any way to get past this phone verification without getting a phone?

Nope, it's there for a security reason because before without it so many people got affected because people lost their accounts to hijackers.

You'll have to wait the 15 days without the phone.

Whoever told you to "get steam on your phone" was correct.

15 days is a long time to wait for a trade and you should understand that people don't want to wait that long.

not recommended, but free service like textnow and bluestacks might work, you'll still have a long wait period for trades becasue of new Steam Guard is enabled. Note that recovery coded.
If it does work then valve considers all accounts tied to that number the same identity so if someone cheats then you all get banned, also anyone who use that number in the future can reset your password and log in to your Steam.

Really not recommended.

I said I have no phone at the start. That's why I want to BYPASS it.

If there is a way to bypass it, imagine someone hijacks your account, bypasses the hold and get away with your items.

In short: There is no way to bypass the hold.

So many years and this... thing... is still here.

Sending a code through mail works just as perfectly fine. Yet for some reason people pretend that doesn't work. If someone is so stupid to give out their passwords to mail too then the phone authenticator will be just as useless.

Correction, even if it was a sent sms I would have no problem. But I don't see why you should buy a phone for X money just to sell stuff on Steam. Why selling and buying cards is very nice, buying a phone for more money that a normal person will ever make here seems stupid.

Email Steam Guard doesn't remove the hold. Also, I have a phone, so this is useless now.

Don't mess with any stupid programs. You can use this open source and community made program:

https://github.com/Jessecar96/SteamDesktopAuthenticator

It won't harm you anyways and won't load your pc like those emulators you've been using.

Edit: You still will need a phone number. If you don't, just don't trade or get a phone number.

Did they add some leeway, like you don't need authenticator under 1 eur or something? Some time ago I managed to sell some cards instantly, I really hope this was no bug and won't get fixed because I've already managed to get rid of multiple years worth of cards and got a ton of badges from the money (could have bought a smaller game but I do like these cards/badges tbh). The need to validate did pop up at some point but after a day it went away. Maybe it comes back if you try to sell valuable stuff, like skins? Hmm.

As for the linked steam desktop authenticator, it actually feels less safe than using a phone emulator since those do not have any connection to steam by default, you just download the authenticator from the store.

This "custom" authenticator on the other hand starts with:
Warning, there are fake versions of this.
We do not accept any responsibility for what this does.

Way to scare me :) Valve could really talk about these alternatives at the authenticator info in the options. Maybe provide a link to a trusted alternative. I mean if they are so bent on not allowing sms or email authentication for this.
As in no offense but anyone can provide a link and add a random software that actually steals your account info if you type it in. Doesn't take long to write one, that's for sure.

Sorry for being negative. Bad day so far.

You don't need the greatest and latest phone to use the app, a cheap prepaid android based phone will do the job
