Does using a cuss word on some "Artwork" count as bypassing the swear filter?

I'm aware this rule doesn't apply on your profile, but if I was in a discussion and posted a spooky meme with a skeleton saying "Wrong forum [the F word]boy" (Uncenseored) would I get the ban hammer?

you bypassing the filter right now counts as bypassing it. don't censor out what you're typing (you shouldn't be typing it at all) artwork with that content is not allowed due to the fact that cursing alone isn't allowed anywhere on steam, it's filtered out for a reason, you're not even supposed to be typing that stuff at all.

Well right now you bypassed the swear filter. Yes the rule applys to every part of steam including your profile and pictures. If you have a naked ladie on your profile you can get banned. If you have racist pictures you can get banned. If you have anything that goes against the rules you can get banned.

A) Well I have seen plenty of profiles with sexual content on their profiles, I take it's something that's so prevelent that people just barely report it, and mods are so used to it they hardly get those people in trouble. I'm mostly in Off Topic and one of the top dog mods (I think it was Spawn of Torronto but I'm not sure) said that people's profiles are their own business. Of course maybe it was a game of telephone situation and that's not true. Of course that sexual content technicly passes I suppose, there is a square inch of cloth over the private parts...

B) Huh, I just re-read the rules and you're right. However, I believe the mods have set a precedent when it comes to the swear filter. I've never seen anyone banned for saying swear words when they are censeored with hearts by the swear filter or when the person uses an asterisk in place of a few letters. Now stuff like "thi.s" or "th is" I have seen people banned for, (as they should,) but as long as the person appears to be willing to cooperate with censeoring their words to the point where they could be a subtitles on the news, the mods don't seem to care.

I won't be making that spoopy profile art anymore though, but if can't say swear words at all then the mods have got quite a bit of work to do.

Yes it will get you banned and your artwork would most likely be banned as well. People who bypass word filters have gotten banned but not a lot of people report on it so we generally have to find them doing it.

Also just because other people have this stuff does not mean it's alright. It's like claiming crime is okay because not all criminals get caught.
