How can I set a secondary computer as "Trusted" with Steam Guard?
I use the Steam Mobile Authenticator and every time I log onto Steam on my wife's laptop I have to enter the Steam Guard Code (I don't have to on my desktop PC). I read that I can have more than one "Trusted" computer so that I don't have to do this but I'm not sure how to make that happen.

Are there specific settings or something I should look for?

Thanks

thats weird as if you are using the auth then it should ask for the code no matter where you log in.trusted machine or not.

id be more concerned about it not asking for the code on your machine
are you sure you dont have 2 steam accounts?

Yes. It's the same account.

Also, you are incorrect, because I found the information I'm looking for.

https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=8625-WRAH-9030&l=english

Near the bottom of the page it says:

Why am I not prompted for a code when I save my login credentials in Steam?

To make logging into your account faster, we do not require a code if you have saved your Steam client credentials. You may choose not to save your credentials and require a code on every login. You can change this in Steam's client settings under the account tab anytime by checking the box at the bottom that says, 'Don't save account credentials on this computer'.
Each time you have to type password, you need a code.
Dont know what makes a computer safer just because you ticked "remember my password". But thats the logic in the program.

No one said saving the password makes it safer, just more comfortable, which usually is bad for security.

Exactly, why forcing us to save password to avoid getting code each time?

Placebo effect for less whining. People feel more secure.

I think you need the auth code if Steam does not automatically start with your OS. So if your wife also plays Steam or you have to log in when you run Steam, you would need the auth code from your phone. In that case having it save your password and start automatically would not be good because anyone who could access that computer as the same OS user could access your Steam account.

Note that this refers to mobile authentication. Steam Guard is another matter and that should work once you authenticate steam with emailed code or mobile authenticator. Although, there would be the usual Steam Guard delay before you could do certain things from that computer like trading or using the marketplace.

It would be safer to remember machine but still requiring password.

Another case of: More insecure with auth if you dont want to type code each time on your computer.

Wrong. My Steam does not start with the OS but does not require the SMA code when starting as i've saved the password.
They force us to handle steam insecure
or to feel stupid while typing a code to avoid someone else somewhere to get scammed or whatever.
Hmm

Steam wants a code to login every time you switch systems. If you log in on computer A the first time it wants a code. After that , if you set credentials to save it will never ask for the code again when you login from that computer. BUT, if you switch and log into Steam from computer B it wants the code again, and if you switch back, computer A also will need a code again since the last login was on another system.
And so on.
