If they were a real game shop they could just ask the publisher to revoke the key and send him a new one. But I doubt they are a real shop, as real shops don't even sell the same key multiple times.

Send them a message like "I would like to obtain the date of activation for this code "XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX"

That's for a wallet card and not a game key. And it only works if it was redeemed on your account. They won't tell you when it was redeemed on another users account.
