Fallout 4 GOTY pricing very misleading
http://store.steampowered.com/app/377160/Fallout_4/

The GOTY "Bundle" claims that it is "59%" off at $41.43, which is complete nonsense.

  1. Why is the GOTY edition not a distinct product? New Vegas and Fallout 3 GOTY editions are distinct products on Steam, and FO4 GOTY is certainly a distinct product on (for example) Amazon.

  2. The list price for FO4 GOTY is $60 (Amazon and Bethesda directly), so at best you can claim a 31% discount on the Steam page.

  3. And why is there no easier method to file a pricing complaint or error report? Searching supports provides no clear place to file reports on erroneous or misleading information on Steam, which is surprising and not very customer-friendly.

According to the Steam Store page, Fallout 4 GOTY is normally $99.93. You also have to keep in mind that since it's actually a bundle, Steam automatically applies a bundle discount to Bethesda's current sale discount.

No error. Bethesda sets the price on Steam.

Amazon does not have (that I am aware of) a US version of the game for sale.

https://www.amazon.com/Fallout-4-Game-Year-PC/dp/B074NJ39WX?th=1 <--- Is from the UK.

The sellers business name is...

"8 TO 12 DAYS SHIPPING TIME (May take up to 25 days at times of bad weather and holidays) Item posted from UK United Kingdom. Region Free works in USA Storefront."

Yes, all of that^^ :taloslol:

That sellers store page...

Because Bethesda hasn't released the GOTY editon on Steam at this time. All Steam has is a one click bundle that adds all the stuff to your cart.

The list price for FO4 GOTY is $60 (Amazon and Bethesda directly), so at best you can claim a 31% discount on the Steam page.

Steam's listed discount is based on their price, not the price it is available at other sites. The only real shady part is that the percentage is based off the base game plus all DLC a la cart. The base game plus the season pass is only $79.98, making the $41.43 about 48% off.

And why is there no easier method to file a pricing complaint or error report? Searching supports provides no clear place to file reports on erroneous or misleading information on Steam, which is surprising and not very customer-friendly.

As pricing errors are usually the fault of the publisher, you would need to contact them, not Steam, about any errors in the base price of the game. Even if it was a problem on Steam's end, you would still need to contact the publisher so that they can tell Steam about the error.

This is just a game bundle, not a true GOTY edition. When that eventually comes to Steam it will be listed as a single purchase and not a multi item bundle.

The Amazon (US) page https://www.amazon.com/dp/B074NJ39WX/ displays the product shipped/sold by Amazon.com ($40 right now), and Bethesda's own online store sells the GOTY version.

Since Steam/Valve is the actual seller of record (on my CC statement) I would expect that any billing/pricing issues need to raised with them, not Bethesda or EA or Crate.

Nope. Seen it happen before. Contacting the developer/publisher is the fastest way to get a price issue fixed.

The page has since been updated to show that it is now being sold from Amazon. It was a completely different seller, picture and description when I last checked it.
