unistalled game still taking disk space
I've had shadow of war randomly uninstall on me over night. I saw that it was still installed on my control panel but on my steam library it said that it was uninstalled. So I decided to uninstall and reinstall but for some odd reason my hard drive space is still missing 67 GB which is huge for me because I have a small SSD that i use to get by.

This is awful for me as its taking up a huge part of my SSD and I cant install other games that I want to install without uninstall unnecessary

EDIT: I checked WinDirStat and apparently ShadowOfWar is still installed is there anyway that I can just get steam to recognize it? so I can just ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ play?

First, reboot your PC.

Use this software and see where the space was taken from you http://www.uderzo.it/main_products/space_sniffer/
Or this https://windirstat.net/. Both do the same thing, they just do it in different ways.

i use TreeSizeFree to sniff out my space useage. as forcen said a reboot may be required for it to leave the add remove programs in windows. you can also check your game directory yourself to make sure the files are gone. i have never seen steam game removal not remove a game myself. checking where all your disc space is being used will help you decide where thinning down may be required. you could also get yourself a tune up utility like iobit Advanced SystemCare Free to do a drive clean up of unwanted data taking up space.

i remoted my sons pc today to do some work on it for him and cleaned up nearly 10 gig of wasted space.

Thanks what I did was I just added it to my added it with the add a non steam game considering it was just sitting in my commons the whole time. It started it up and it automatically changed from ShadowOfWar to Middle-earth: Shadows of War

That sounds like an odd solution..

I would try to delete manually and get it working properly if I were you, you know so achievements and all that works properly.

Yes this link/discussion is dead/old but, try using "storage sensse" in Windows 10 (the link here is a bit old but it's still viable: https://www.windowscentral.com/best-ways-to-free-hard-drive-space-windows-10#free-space-using-storage-sense).

It helps flush the cache and get the space back.
Thx it actually helped me a LOT.:sadMio:

if something takes up space then the software I linked in the very first reply five years ago will be able to find it no matter what it is.
