Mic not working in steam

Hey so My mic works perfecty everywhere else except steam. I tried everything under the sun, Uninstalled GeForce Experience(as old posts said was the problem), uninstalled all audio drivers and reinstalled them, even tried other mics. nothing seams to fix it. BTW this is running on win 10. This is extremely annoying and I can'tr figure out wtf is actually happening.

go in game and shift+tab and settings. In settings find voice and sellect mic so steam will automaticly set your mic as default

That is not the problem, it sees the mic but will not pick up any sound.

Try increasing the microphone boost under Control Panel > Sound > Recording > Levels.

Disable microphone enhancements if those are enabled.
