Recording with OBS at 60 fps and not capping FPS
So I wanted to state I tried posting in the OBS support forums, but no one seems to understand or want to help fix the problem, and I'm not the only one who has the same problem.

I want to record at 1080p 60fps and still play at my normal framerate. Sure recording while playing causes your FPS to lower, I get that, but why is it that if I'm recording with OBS my preview looks choppy telling me the recording will look choppy too if my FPS is not capped at 60? I have a 144hz monitor so playing at 60 fps is not ideal. I want to play at whatever FPS I'm getting, anything above 100 is fine, but when I start recording and I have 90-110 fps in any game the recording is choppy and the only option right now to fix it is to do exactly what I don't want to do. I know it's possible to record and play at above the recording 60 FPS, but why can't OBS do that?

My games run fine, just to mention, so it's not my PC that is causing the problem, but whenever I try and get help on the OBS forum the only thing they say fixes the issue is capping my FPS, but I know that isn't the answer. I don't want to cap my FPS and I know many of you don't have to.

Here is the log I posted. I was trying to record Destiny 2 in this log, and was managing about 80-120 fps, fluctuating at times of open areas and closed areas, but the recording was choppy. If I capped my FPS to 60 the recording looks fine, even if I was continously recording and changing the fps cap in between the difference was noticeable. It happens in Rocket League as well so it's not just one game. Rocket League is easy to run so it shouldn't be an issue.

Here is a video example of the choppiness: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9uZK6Qb9PN0

Do you have "Multi-adapter Compatibility" enabled in your game capture source(s)? I've had some similar issues when I had that setting enabled in the past.

No. I've never used that setting.
