Screenshots are being taken using a button that I didn't assign?

So I'm playing a game that I haven't played in a while, loaded it up through steam, and one of the vital buttons is for some reason taking screenshots every time I press it. When I go to Settings > In Game, the button assigned is the default F12, but pressing R takes a screenshot. I can't find any way to unassign R since it isn't even assigned in the first place. Both F12 and R take screenshots. Anyone know how to resolve this?

There is both a Steam screenshot key (usually F12) and a screenshot key for the specific game (usually F10). If keyboard setting in the game has F12 assigned for that, see what "Steam" setting is for screenshots (Steam > Settings > In-Game > Screenshot shortcut keys).

I have the same issue with CSGO, i've assigned ; key to the screenshots, but steam somehow takes screenshots through F2 too, on all games, even though I'VE SET ; KEY TO THAT

Steam doesn't, the game itself has a bind for "screenshot" and it sends that information to Steam's screenshot function. Unbind the screenshot key in CSGO.

didn't I already say this 5 years ago, why did you necro the topic instead of unbinding it?

It doesn't, only games which have a keybind for screenshot, e.g. any Valve game.
