Can I use steam sims expansion packs on origin

So I have my base game on origin but I want to buy expansion packs from steam to take advantage of the deal that’s going on. I’ve seen people say that all you have to do is activate the game code on origin but I’ve also seen people say you have to have the base game on steam and play it before you can get the game code. So my question is. Is it possible for me to use an expansion pack from steam in my sims 3 game in origin?

No, the DLCs only work with the Steam basegame. You must launch the game to get the product keys. You can't launch the DLCs without the basegame.

You cant even BUY the DLC without owning the base game. Except as a gift for another user who has it.

Thanks guys i was able to just buy the base game ( slight waste of money) and then convert the DLC that i bought to orgin wasnt as hard as i d thought it would be.

Its super simple, all the Sims 3 DLC on Steam come with a serial key. Just use that key on ORIGIN and it will unlock the identical DLC on there for free.
Also works with all other EA products still on Steam, like Mass Effect 1+2, Dragon Age Ultimate, Dead Space 1+2 and so on.

if you bought ea play thru steam, you buy the DLC thru steam. if you bought EA play thru origin, you buy the DLC thru origin
