Will Steam Gift Card(US) work for other countries?

My friend is asking me to buy Steam gift cards for him but we're not sure will it work for a Philippine account and convert Steam US Dollar Gift Card to Philippine Peso. Thanks

Yes they will. They auto convert to the other users currency.

US gift cards should work. The amount of US dollars should be converted to pesos at the current forex rate.

The only regional restrictions on gift cards that I heard of, is that gift cards from Southeast Asian countries can only be activated in Southeast Asian region.

Only for physical cards in select locals like cyber cafes in the SEA region. Not the digital ones directly from Steam.
