If games are removed from the store, they no longer show in the game count.

Not true I got all those dirt games free from humble and it never decrease

I got DiRT Showdown and DiRT 3 Complete Edition free when Humble gave them away due to the imminent removal from the Steam store. Never had a decrease in my Games count.

Wonder if it's because something was reclassified...I wish Steam would send account notifications.

The game count is complete rubbish -- Steam should just count the games you have, without filtering it for "store presence" or other rubbish like that. If you have the game, count it.
But. OK, they don't do that.

However, if a game gets removed from your account, lets say because the key got disabled by the publisher, Steam DOES give you a message that you can't just casually click away.

I had 200 games even just yesterday... and 199 today. So yeah something was most likely reclassified as not a game (as far as the app goes)... but I'll never know.

Youre exactly right, anyone that has any of those games listed above owns the game and it's counted as a game numerically, it's just unable to be purchased on Steam anymore. Which is why that list means nothing for my issue. Something was reclassified in Steam's database yet I will never know because they don't let you know. All I see is my games count decrease by 1.
