How to remove ImageSAFERFilter.dll?
Hello
Since a few days ago i've recieved this message:

An incompatible version of ImageSAFERFilter.dll (related to MarkAny ContentSAFER / Samsung KIES) has been detected inside of the Steam process.
We suggest updating or uninstalling this software if you experience crashes or network slowdowns while running Steam of individual games.

And since this message popped up my computer has been slower than usual.
I've tried to google ways to fix this. I've run a complete virus scan with Norton but it didn't find anything. I've tried to search for the file in the top right corner of a winow by typing in parts of, or the full name of the file that is mentioned in the message from the Steam client, but i'm not finding anything.

There is one file called ImageSAFERSvc.exe in my windows folder, but it's not a .dll file.
One website told me to re-register the file in the Command Prompt by typing regsvc32 c:\windows\ but i got the message that the file isn't a .dll file so that didn't work.
I also tried typing in (something like) nfs /scannow but that scan didn't find anything either.

How do I find and remove this ImageSAFERFilter.dll?
Or do i have to format my harddrive and reinstall windows?

Any suggestions?

Next idea: Do a full disk search for the file of hat name.
Was there ever a fix to this? I've even deleted the file and am still getting the same message on Steam
The fix would be to get rid of the piece of software in question
That would be my windows sys32 file.
I've run adaware and malaware programs and it hasn't come up. Any other suggestions. I can't even search the file as I deleted it from the 32 file (after checking to make sure it wasn't integral

Thanks again for your useless suggestion. Don't you think if people actually knew which piece of software it came with they'd remove it?

Trainasaurus Wrecks, try "Hijack this" it might find it
Thank you sir, I'll give it a shot.

Do you mean that the DLL file is in the System32-folder?
I've searched for the file, run a complete virus scan and everything. There is no file called ImageSAFERFilter.dll on my computer. There is a ImageSAFERsvc.exe from MarkAny . . . But that's something different, that's not something i can just delete . . . Then i'd mess up my computer :steamsalty: One guy from tech support told me to format my hard drive.

How that? That program isn't an integral system component. It's not a system component at all. Boot it!
In my case there is no program to uninstall. There is a markany directory. But it's empty except for an "epagesafer" directory which contains a single .sys file. No exe. The add/remove programs has no entries for imagesafer, epagesafer, or markany anywhere in it. I have the imagesafter service, but I have no idea what that is attached to.
