Possible Solution for "Regional Price Difference"

I totally understand why this is a thing, but I'm trying to gift a couple games to my friend in Great Britain (from America), but I have no way of sending him anything.

I can't directly buy the games (Cave Story+ and Finding Strangers for those curious), and I can't store them as items either, as far as I know, it is absolutely impossible right now.


Now I have a feeling this is a long-shot, but I'd like to offer a solution.

Would it be possible to add an option to pay the proper amount for a different currency?

For example, Cave Story+ goes for 10.99Pounds on Steam UK, but it's $14.99 in the U.S.
Using a currency translator, you discover $14.99 equals 11.47Pounds. Now I'm sure you noticed this amounted to a different total price, but even this has a simple fix.

Use the Currency of the Country the gift is being sent to as the base (in this case Britain's Pound), and the sender's currency will be modified (The U.S. Dollar for this example). Simply put, if I'm sending to someone using Pounds, Calculate the Steam UK price in Dollars. Again using Cave Story+'s 10.99Pound, that translates to $14.36.

I pay the money, my friend gets the game, Steam gets the money, it's a win / win for everybody.

Finding Strangers isn't available for purchase yet, it was just an example as my friend wants that game.

A lot of users already made that suggestion. So far there was no reaction from VALVE to any complains about the new gifting system. We just have to wait and see if they will implement some of these reasonable suggestions.

Also, for as long as this restriction exist, just buy Steam keys outside of Steam and gift those to your friend for activation.
