PING FAILED, CAN'T CONNECT TO GAMES SUDDENLY, DISCORD OR CHAT WON'T WORK? i KNOW THE PROBLEM
Firstly, it could be: your firewall or any number of problems. I went on a million forums and tried entering command keys, pinging IP addresses, changin my pc settings, reinstalling steam, restarting everything. One of those options might work for you. Ill describe what worked for me.

This week i suddenly couldn't connect to games or chat to my mates with steam chat or discord. My net was fine, normal websites were loading. I was having problems with discord, dota 2 and multiplayer games. It would say PING FAILED and i simply couldnt chat to my mates.

So after spending all of yesterday trying to find a solution, searching multiple forums this one worked for me. Hopefully someone else won't have to waste so much time.

Turns out that the problem was with the modem firewall. My normal windows firewall was fine, but the modem firewall was blocking certain apps. I rang up my ISP support (in my case good old dodo) and the solution is to go to the modem settings in your interenet browser and click on internet -->> network security -->>firewall level-->> and change from medium to low.

As soon as i did this, my multiplater games could connect, discord worked etc.

Hopefully this helps someone out, because i couldn't find this advice anywhere on the net when i googled this problem

yeah exactly. Those articles mention your standard firewall and antivirus software but I didn't have any idea that it could be my actual modem firewall though.
