Any way to find previous profile pictures?

My friend lost his old pic while he was changing it.
Does Steam save your old profile pictures or something?

Unfortunately not, but archive.org may be able to assist provided it has made a archive.

Use this site, ask your friend to search for his own profile URL. You need to log in with the Steam OpenID to see avatar history (it is completely safe, I use this site a lot).

Bear in mind that not all avatars are logged. If he changes it often then it is likely that the avatars are not saved often.

Click the "Sign in through Steam" green button on top left. Then put his profile URL in the searchbar and enter. As long as his profile is public, you can see most information like friend list, friend history and avatar history.

Only if it was cached at some point can you see previous ones.
