Steam wont log in and says the password or log in is wrong, when its not! (solved)

So, i went to login to steam and it says that my password is incorrect. I then changed my password, and it was successfully changed via email. I went on to steam, log in and it says: (You have entered a incorrect password or email) and thats not true.. I have been able to access the website with the new password and i have given steam a good hour to rehabilitate but its still doing it.. Any help is much appreciated, If it helps to know.. i am logging in from another pc, i have verified through the code on the site that its me using a different computer aswell which it said verified and made sure the words were all spelled correctly in my email and password, its driving me nuts! definitely a glitch of some sort.

password is case sensitive, also whenever steam goes through maintenance it'll say incorrect password [not saying it's maint rn tho]

i did check to make sure the new password was the same and not caped, about to try a new password for the 3rd time if it doesnt work soon..

did it again!, 3rd attempt, verified code, got new password, log in, pass word is incorrect! this time i even ensured making a long password with words and numbers, each time making sure case sensitive.

wait a while before logigng in after changing password, sometimes servers take a while to update under stress

Yup, same here, same here. So again: Your email is not your username. If Steam contacts you, they will use your username in the header in case anyone wonders.

Are you using a very long password? The app seems to cut off after a certain number of characters, although it will let you set a password that is too long.

Try a shorter password?

Account name and NOT your profile name (not the same thing) or email address.

Also, is the place and time on your phone correct? Note, do not set it yourself - let the phone automatically do it.

I had the same issue until I found out that I've been using email all the time to login rather than the username
how stupid :p

I had the same issue I was getting so stressed out. Reset several times

Me to was using my email and not my username didn't realise until I read this post. Thanks :)
