Settlers 2, theres a remastered/HD/whatever version of it. Get that.

Is settlers 7 any good? or only the old ones. Was thinking about getting the 3rd on GOG

Settlers 2 is the best when you want to, well, settle. You know, optimizing production and watching your settlers do their work. 3 went way in the direction of combat, the economy runs itself and the challenge is more how to get a working army fast than to get your economy running at all. Later games focus on other aspects.
