Steam Account Verification Mails // Someone trys to get access to my Steam account
Hello :)
Recently I receive a lot of "Steam Account Verification" emails, saying: "Here is the code you need to change your Steam login credentials: XXX If you are not trying to change your Steam login credentials, please ignore this email. It is possible that another user entered their login information incorrectly."

I never tried to change my login credentials and I really get a lot of these emails (last night it was 6, like one every 1 or 2 hours). I'm worried if someone might try to get into my account.
I wanted to change my username but I don't know how. Also I tried to contact Steam support, but I can't find any email adress or phone number. For some reason I think they don't want to be contacted ;)

Does someone know this kind of issue or someone maybe knows, how to get in touch with Steam?

Thanks a lot. :)

You cannot change the log in username. You can change your password and email, however.

How do I change my Steam account password?

Thank you :)
Unfortunately changing password and email doesn't help because I still receive these mail. I think someone trys to chane the password by typing in the user or account name. Because of the frequency of the mails I also think it's done by a bot.

If you have changed the email but are still receiving these emails on your previous email, then it is possible that you may have a second account that is receiving these hijack attempts.

Try to recover the other account by entering the previous email address here:

If you are still receiving these emails on the new email address that you have changed to, then please consider scanning your computer for malware as you may have an infection on your computer.

My username is a 14 year old email adress that I used when I created my steam account in 2003. This email adress isn't valid anymore, but by steam account's username is still named like this. I think someone tries to recover the password, knowing the username. So when I type the old mail adress in at the "forgot my password" form, in the next step I can send an email to my current email address.

I see. As Steam support also cannot change your log in username, I am not sure how else to advise you.

You may wish to contact Steam support for additional advice, although I do not know if they can give you a better answer other than to use as many recommended account security measures as is possible.
