Xbox 360 Controller on PC Windows 7 (different Problems)
Wanting to use a controller for DragonBall Xenoverse (1 & 2) seeing as playing on a mouse and keyboard is kind of painful. This option doesn't appear hence the searching for a solution to this problem. Darn Microsoft their troubleshooting sucks.

I've been looking through troubleshooting for using an Xbox 360 controller on PC (Windows 7) to sort out why it's not working. However, most of these lead me to Device Manager > Human Interface Devices > compliant game device. Well that doesn't exist for me. On the other hand the controller shows up under Microsoft Common Controller for Windows Class > Xbox 360 Wireless Controller via Play & Charge Kit. I've tried disable/enable Unistall/Reinstall/Reinstall the DL driver. Lots of NOPE happening there.

I also tried Start > Run > Joy.cpl... well the controller doesn't show up under this.

I have downloaded and installed the driver, but none of the troubleshooting I've looked at yet applies seeing as what I stated above.

As a side note I'm pretty sure I only have 2.0 usb ports and I've tried moving the plug around to different ones, no success. Now it is a wireless controller but I'm having to use the charge cable to plug it in seeing as I don't have a wireless er... sensor(?).

Any ideas on how to get it to work?

The play'n'charge kit doesn't work. Either buy a cable gamepad or a wireless receiver.
Ok, I bought a Rocky Candy Xbox One Wired Controller... and it seems like I need drivers for it to see if it will even work. Per usually Google fails me at find the drivers.

Plug and Play should actually be PLUG and PLAY! I hate you Microsoft.

Are you using a USB to Micro USB cable that plugs into the top of the controller? The plug on the bottom of the controller is for charging which you don't need to do if it's plugged in at the top.

I've got an Microsoft XBox One controller on Win 7. I plug it in and go. It has no additional drivers other than what Win 7 natively has.

Well Yes and No... there's no plug on the bottom of the controller. As for plug and play, it shows up in the Device Manger > Other Devices > Rock Candy Wired Controller for Xbox One. But I get that annoying little Yellow Triangle with an Exclamtion point in it... which tells me it needs drivers.

My google search yeild 0 solutions per usually. A lot of links to possible drivers are dead now as well. One thing I found had me searching for a Driver that doesn't exist on my PC. Update Driver > Browse my computer > Choose from a list... then I get 4 Xbox 360 Drivers (not sure why) but not the one I should have... which is weird because I saw it when I had the 360 Controller pluged in.

Very annoying.

Ah... Great.................... Seems Xbox One controllers are ONLY useable for W 8.1 and up. FML
All I'll say is I bought this one, https://www.amazon.com/Xbox-Wireless-Controller-White-one/dp/B01GW3H3U8?th=1 and a USB to Micro USB cable, plugged it into my Win 7 system and it works. I ddin't even put batteries in it. It works. I got the white one hoping it would be easier to find when I lose it.
