Why does the screen get smaller (Top left corner) when I change the Res

I was playing Nier A fine one day but the next time i got in the game it was small in the top eft corner. Due to my computer not being the best i have to play on low res and low everything else. It says its full screen and my monitor is all blacked out except the game in the top left. Is there a way to have it completely full screen just on low Res?

Set it to windowed mode in the game, then press Alt + Enter, it should go back to fullscreen without the black borders.

Also try:

For AMD open up your driver panel, and click the display tab on the bottom. Turn on GPU scaling and for scaling mode, select full panel (I think maintain aspect ratio should work as well). I don't know how to do this on nVidia but you can look for similar options.
