Universal Access
I turned on Universal Access for Steam and I'm still not able to invite people to my game. Anyone know how to fix this?

Make sure that block all incoming connections is unchecked in windows firewall
(It is under change settings in the firewall control panel)

Steam does not support any operating system earlier than macOS Sierra 10.12. Valve needs to mention that on their web pages:

If your Mac is too old to be updated, you are out of luck.

Here are the general troubleshooting tips:

You can read about client updates here:

It's a Mac OS Yosemite. I've looked it up, people have used Steam on this system before but they don't have an issue with it like I'm having.

There is a new Steam Client update. Did that help?

My Steam client version is now:

Built: Sep 6 2017, at 20:48:38
Steam API: v017
Steam package versions: 1504757234

News about the update:

"macOS"
"Added basic Steam Overlay support to games using the Metal graphics API (macOS 10.11 and above). Screenshots and Streaming support for Metal games not yet supported."
