Full screen games not using Nvidia Control Panel settings
Yesterday I noticed my games were resetting my Nvidia CP settings and not using them. I figured out a way to stop the settings from being reset after exiting the game, but the problem is that the game STILL doesn't use these settings.

I calibrated my screen to near perfection, but it sucks because the games won't use said calibration. They just use default settings or something, which looks nowhere near as good as they should with the calibration I did. Rainbow Six Siege, for example, is really dark when it should be brighter and better looking overall.

I know this has to be an issue that others experience as well and I've found some threads from other sites discussing this but no fixes.

If I run a game in Windowed-mode, it uses the correct settings. Only in full-screen does it not use them.

And before anyone says it's an issue with my PC, the same thing is happening to my wife's. We both have laptops, but I've seen others with the same issue on desktops as well.

If anyone has any experience with this or has a workaround/fix, please let me know. Thanks in advance.

You should link those other threads you found.

So does anyone know if there's a way to force fullscreen games to use the Nvidia CP settings?

It's such a waste because I have a nice IPS G-Sync screen and I can't even take advantage of my calibration in the most important way: while gaming.

Try to disable fullscreen optimizations. It definitely overrides refresh rates in some games for me (60hz instead of 144, even though programs are forced to use highest refresh rate in control panel), so it might override other settings.
