Can't hear in-game audio
Ever since this new Windows 10 update, my sound has been screwed up. First it was incredibly disorted and loud. I managed to fix that but now I can not hear an noices when I launch a game.

Everything else seems alright with no apparent technical issues. For example: I can hear everything when I go on the web to watch a video or play music.

This is occuring on the Blizzard and Origins app as well. And yes I've checked my audio device setting as well as my in-game audio.

Help would be appreciated and if anyone else is having this problem, I would like to know.

Try updating audio drivers or mess around with your sound manager.

My device uses the latest update and everything seems fine except that I believe a driver is not functioning properly or is has been uninstalled. I have looked into my audio device manager but there really is nothing to tweak.

After updating everything and restarting my system, I remain incapable of prevailing.
Are you using only speakers or headphones? My speakers work perfectly but i'm having issues with headphones, pain in the ass i say. I can only hear from the right side of the headphone while the left side is silent. Like these headphones i got are kind off new, got them about a month ago. They worked a day and later they had the issue i mentioned. Few days ago i managed to fix it by swaping the cables to the front pannel and then somehow i managed to enable the front panel through the sound manager and it worked until yesterday. The settings are still the same and i have no idea how to fix it again. Tried puting the cables in the external audio card, back panel and had the same issue with other headphones and motherboard. Even some friends have the same issue.
What i'm trying to say is having good audio is hard to manage.

Cable near connector broken
If it's cheap in-ear headphones, it's easier to buy new ones (because cheap 5-15 $ soldering irons are not able to solder such thin wires)
If it's a big headset, you can try to solder the connector. You will need to buy a new connector with a dismountable body. Or use the old, and after the soldering, put the heat shrink tube
I use a Sennheiser headset but that isn't the problem; I tested the cheap Apple ear buds and I got the same results.

This is very odd but now all my games on Steam have functional sound but outside of that, for example: Battlefield 4, I cannot hear anything.

My theory is that my system didn't handle the Windows update well, possibly resulting in my drivers to not be fully compatible.

@uFrost
By what your saying, it seems like you have a hardware problem with those specific headphones or audio jack.
I figured out the problem:

MSI's Nahimic software on Realtek drivers was causing the audio to not function properly. Uninstalling it solved the issue as well as other conflicts I had previously with various games.
Dude you're a LEGEND!
I tried fixing this for a week, reinstalling and uninstalling drivers and tweaking the audio panel! Thanks!
If you could be so kind with explaining the steps to do this since I am not the best at computer matters
