Are you sure the game was bought directly from the steam store? You can confirm that from your account purchase history?
Sounds like you have a virus mate, Steam does not issue alerts like that. Your message would ask you to contact support, and support would ask you to provide evidence,
You would never get an account alert that says "Send us your HalfLife CD key because you're a hacker"

OK That's legit. You can find your HL CD key if you navigate your registry to this location -
HKEY_CURRENT_USER/software/valve/half-life/settings/key/
Edit: You don't need the CD Key, they want the actual packaging from the game with the CD Key visable.
I can not find the last folder named "key"
for me: haha, that went away, together with the packages for Ultima 7 and the like.
I do. Many others as that usually is the first thing on an account after creation and is more valuable than most other things to provide ownership of that account. Point of the story? Keep your retail keys.
Well, you'd have far bigger issues than just regaining access to your Steam account. In that case, find somewhere else to live, get everything else sorted out and then buy new retail games/Steam Wallet codes and use those as proof of ownership.
Read the rest of what it says in the link I provided. That is just 1 of many ways to provide proof of ownership. I know I am odd but I keep mine along with other high value items in a safe deposit box. (OK, I'm nuts. lol)
