Hiding the list of steam games on your taskbar
Is it possible to hide or remove your list of Steam Games in your taskbar?
I don't see any option on Steam > Settings > Interface > Set Taskbar Preferences.

I don't know how to post a screenshot here.
Hoping you know what I am referring to c:

You have to decrease the number of jump list items in Windows task bhar settings.

Uhm I think you misunderstood me. I think It's not related to Windows taskbar settings. It has something to do with the Steam client itself.

You know, when you log in your steam account, your steam client resides in the bottom right corner of your taskbar, right?

Now try right clicking it and you will see a list of your Steam games, including the STORE, COMMUNITY, LIBRARY, etc.

What I want to know is how can I hide or disable the list of my Steam games.

Nope. But what is your use case? Maybe there's another solution.

It will always show the last 3 games you played for a quick start. You cant disable that.

This doesn't even hide hidden games. And that is very stupid. At least have an option to not show any games at all in the task bar menu. Or maybe actually hide the hidden games...

Exactly. This should be a feature

Go for your games library and select option on top right corner "Sort by recent activity" there you will see all recent games. Right click on selected game you like to delete from the list and select manage option then delete. Re steam and have fun, hope it helps..

Unfortunately it does not work for me, there is no such thing as delete, after being hidden it is unchanged, still in MRU in the taskbar (most recent used)

One other option, I had to hide a birthday present I just bought.

The list updates as you play each game so I just opened enough games and exited to move the B'day game off the list and since it is hidden they shouldn't see it until I make it visible.

This is incredibly annoying for titles that are addons and not actual games. For instance. VR tools that add more overlay to the steam VR menu. Just launching VR, not even a game, just VR gives me like 10 different tools that auto start when I launch VR, all before I even open a game. Tools are NEVER something you want to quick launch cause they are addons, not stand-alone software. They auto-launch when the program they go to launches. I just want my ACTUAL recent games to be what shows up on that list. I only ever bounce between 4 games at any given time (meaning I might drop one from the list and replace it with another), and the fact that I can't instantly find them on a quick launch list that contains FIVE items is just stupid.

That's why you NEED the option to tick a box saying "don't show this software on quick-launch list" under the game's "management" tab. Cause some things that show up on there is just spam making it so I can't see ANY of my previously launched titles.

ey necro squad. what Fs me up is this mile long title: "tiny tina's assault on dragon keep a wonderlands one-shot adventure" making my pop up menu wider than the arse of the mom of the Dbag who doesn't allow me to empty that least, or do not have it at all....

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
