Geforce Experience - screen capture warping time??
Hi everyone,

Seemingly out of nowhere, Geforce Experience no longer records for the correct length of time. For example, here are three separate recordings I've done in the last three days, detailing how long I've recorded for and how long the video clips end up being:

Bendy and the Ink Machine
Time recorded in real life - 11:23
Time that clip ends up being - 11:19

Bendy and the Ink Machine
Time recorded in real life - 55:16
Time that clip ends up being - 55:46

Amnesia: The Dark Descent
Time recorded in real life - 43:51
Time that clip ends up being - 43:09

As you can see, i) they're not reflective of the ACTUAL time that's been recorded, and ii) they're sometimes longer than the time in real life and sometimes shorter.

I have a feeling it's something to do with Geforce Experience waiting to capture 60 frames before considering them to be "a second", whereas I feel the way it used to work was that it would capture AS MANY frames in a second as it could, but a second of capture time would remain a second of "real" time.

Can anyone help, as this is a massive inconvenience. If I can't resolve this, I'll have to use something else to capture the screen, but this is simply far easier...

Thanks again. Ed

Ps. I've posted this exact query on the Geforce forums, but they are utterly useless at support. I've always found the Steam community to be far better.

complete pc specs?

guess: poor gpu capability to record real time events.

Unfortunately, this is a top spec laptop. The issue appeared to only start following a driver update, but I can't find any evidence online to suggest it was that.

Acer Predator 15 G9-593
Intel i7-6700
16GB DDR Ram
GTX-1070

Ps. I'm about to reformat the entire PC and start again.

then the driver update 'broke' the recording feature.

revert to previous driver or update to newer update.

also, report the bug at nvidia forum so a fix can be properly issued by nvidia.

Will give that a try.

As for the Nvidia forum, there's more chance of pigs flying than getting a response on there.

Thanks for your time :o)

Unfortunately, I've completed a fresh installation of Windows, reverting to an older driver, and the problem still hasn't been fixed.... I recorded a 5:13 clip, and it's showing as 5:05 in length. Quite a difference, especially when recording over an hour..
