That is... That's really weird. You can try configuring your device through the Control Panel, it's config might be a little janky. Other than that, I'm not sure how to help you. I'm not a computer wizard or tech master like a lot of people on Steam, so maybe they can help you.
Are you sure the mute button isn't pressed? If you look down the cord you will see the controller with the volume buttons and a larger button. If the red light is on, that means the mic is muted. I have that exact same headset.

Does it show up in the recording devices?
Does it show up as Active, and is selected as a default device?

Try unpluging it, and plug it back in, then test it when you start game back up again.
Uninstall it from device manager, then plug the device back in, if I don't know what to tell you.

These are methods, if you have trouble installing the drivers on Windows 10.
Method 1: Download the drivers for Windows 7 and install in Compatibility mode for Windows 10.
a) Download the drivers from manufacturer’s website.
http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/en-in/p/lifechat-lx-3000/JUG-00005#support
b) Long press or right click the driver installation file and select Properties then tap or click the Compatibility tab.
c) Check the option Run this program in compatibility mode.
d) Tap or click the drop down box and select a previous operating system, then tap or click OK.
e) Try installing the driver again.
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-8/older-programs-compatible-version-windows
If method 1 doesn’t help, follow method 2.

Method 2: Set the Headphones as default and check.
a) Right click on the volume icon in the system tray and then click "Recording devices".
b) Right click on the blank space in the popped up window and then select "Show Disabled Devices" and "Show Disconnected Devices".
c) Right click on Headphone and then click "Enable".
d) Highlight the microphone and then choose "Set as Default Device".
e) Click Apply and Ok.

the sipliest thing to do is to troubleshoot the compatibility of the device. your mic has a limitted function so you need to troubleshoot it and see what kind of arrangement or compatibility will apply in some games or programs. or you may check your headset jack, see if its kinda loosen. if wont work otherwise you need a new mic compatible in every gaming or any programs.
