Steam overlay in-game web browser difficulties

Hi. So recently, my in-game web browser in the Steam Overlay has been having problems. I use it quite often since it is more stable than alt-tabbing to use a real browser, as some of my games crash when I do this, or don't even allow me to alt-tab whatsoever, so the in game browser is much more convenient. By the way, these problems happen regardless of what game I'm playing, so long as it supports the overlay.

First off, when I switch between tabs, pages go black. Doesn't seem to matter what website was open on the tab, when I switch tabs the page just goes entirely black. I have to either scroll up/down, or hover my mouse across the screen to re-render the page. Refreshing takes longer, but it does fix it. It doesn't matter if I close the steam overlay and open it again, or stay on it the whole time, the tabs just go black all the time, and it makes browsing a lot slower and harder.

Secondly, right-clicking links to open them in new tabs often doesn't work. It opens a new tab, but the URL is completely blank - no homepage, no link, nothing. So I have to go back to the previous tab and click the link again. Even if my mouse is hovering right over it, it just doesn't work sometimes. Happens about 50% of the time.

Anyone have any idea how to fix this? Are these bugs, or just problems with the overlay itself? Both of these problems seem to have started happening only within the last 2 months, probably in a Steam update. I've tried to deal with them, but it's quite annoying, so I'd like to do what I can to fix it. Thanks!

Glad I'm not the only one. Have you found a way to get rid of it or is it Steam's responsibility?

just wanna say i also have problem to work around this i just middle mouse button click the link instead of right clicking opening new tab

What a necro lol. I know you can also do Control+LeftClick but it still has issues sometimes, and the browser STILL suffers from frequent blank pages and rudimentary features.

welp i use middle mouse button for normal browser, in steam overlay it just never works, only right-click and open in new tab
