PS4 Controller Issues :(
Hello, Good Morning/Afternoon/Evening for wherever you guys are.

I have an issue especially with GTAV and maybe some other steam games. Ive tried using a wired usb cable at first and it never worked, regardless of other third party software i used such as DS4Tool, X360ce & also InputMapper.

Games outside of steam work but somehow steam games are quite finnicky.

Gang beasts worked okay for a day but im still having issues in general with Steam's PS4 control system.

I also have used the PS4 PC adapter i bought from Amazon, although it stays connected and doesnt drop out, the buttons dont function. So I have resorted to using the adapter now.

When the controller is on and connected, in GTAV The analog doesn't function, the aim does, the start button does, but nothing else works.

Funny enough when i downloaded x360c3 it worked..sort of. Except the left analog stick was a bit weird, as if i moved to the right or i pushed the analog stick up it would pull up the phone every time.

And also when i tried tapping X to run on the controller, it would keep flashing the screen as if it wants me to either change character to story mode or start recording the game for rockstar editor???

I'm getting so tired of these connectivity issues and its tiring me out, any help would be appreciated.

Rather than using those emulators, does it work if you use Steam's built-in DS4 support?

[Steam > Settings > Controllers > General Controller Settings]
:correctamundo:
PS4 Configuration Support

If you don't like using Big Picture Mode in-game with DS4, just disable this under
[Steam > Settings > In-Game]
__
Use the Big Picture Overlay when using a Steam Controller from the desktop

Then while the controller is turned on, right mouse click on the game on your Steam -library and choose [Edit Steam Controller Configuration] if you want to bind more advanced than the default X360 bindings.

Which dongle do you use? I find Asus BT-400 to work fine on my DualShock 4 v2, and its connection is simply done under [Add a Device] and then holding down the [SHARE] and [PS] -button down on the controller.

Thank you for your reply, I used steam's built in support but it only works for other games besides GTAV. I dont get whats up with that game at all. Every other game works fine.

Ill try not using the Big picture mode and disable it tomorrow and see if it changes anything, but I did try and use the game without big picture also but no change sadly.

The dongle I use is the actual Playstation Adapter provided by themselves, all i do is plug the USB in and and hold it down for 3 seconds and do the exact same thing as what you did with the buttons and it connects, just somehow GTAV is being a total b**** about it.

I even uninstallled GTAV yesterday to see any change but NOPE.

Your problem might stem from messing about with things way too much, all of the stuff installed by the controller hacks that are no longer needed, HID controller drivers, vJoy drivers etc.

Once all of that stuff is removed and you only use the official PS4 and Xbone drivers, things tend to function perfectly.
