Creating a mod with copyrighted music

I might want to create a mod for "Total war: Warhammer 1" with some copyrighted music from the game "Warhammer: Mark Of Chaos". However, I haven't got a clue if I would be able to upload it on the steam workshop without it being taken down for using copyrighted music. I would appreciate someone taking the time to explain to me how this works exactly, and whether or not there are ways i might be able to use previously mentioned music, like cutting out chunks of the soundtracks, editing them, etcetera. either get permission to use the music or risk being reported for violating copyrights.

If I get permission to use the music, how do I show the people in charge that I've got it from the copyright holders?

you can add a link to your page where they can see that you paid for the music

But, I'd still be sharing music with people that haven't paid for it, by using it in a mod. Doesn't that still cause trouble? I imagine that for individual use it wouldn't be a problem at all.

if you received permission, it would be in a form that you can send to valve if an issue arises about it.

If I got a written response from the company that produced the game, or the license owner of the game I'm using music from, like an e-mail, would that be a viable form to send?

as long as there is contact info for them, sure. it needs to be verified if an issue arises.

You would add that to the description. since if you use copyrighted material you must give proper acreditation

XCOM 2 has tons of mods in form of complete soundtracks from other games. Maybe check there.

Or you could use music that you won't get in trouble for using, there are websites full of that stuff.
