I Have Solved The "Locked Files Problem" from Malwarebytes. (Hope this helps)

If you are having trouble with anti malware software I have figured out how to resolve locked files!

If you are running on malwarebytes simply go into settings then Exclutions and then add new and click on files and Steam_Setup or simply type steam and then click Add.

This works because suddenly Malwarebytes really doesn't care anymore about steam and allows your games to update freely

Make sure when you click add you click Exclude or (Ignore) as Malware or Potencialy unwanted item. The First option you ARE aloud to click Excludes it as Ransomware potencialy making your PC vunrable to Ransomware. Malware is AAALLLOOOTTTT easier to get rid of than Ransomware as you can imagine. Please ALWAYS be careful when doing this and be aware that by doing this with any other application other than steam MAY weaken the PC's Protection system.

(For games without a detection system like battle eye) Do not Download any Locked files by themselves they could be a deadly virus waiting to spring out and attack you

This method helped when a game called Unturned had locked files that were now UN locked because of this method

(I am sorry for the people using other software to protect their PC this is the best i could do to help)

(BTW this Discution is strictly for the people using Malwarebytes).

ive never had malwarebytes detect anything from steam nor have i had it block steam or its games.

It is mostly for a game called Unturned which recently had an update that HAD a locked file. I have posted this for both unturned and steam because i realize that there are some games that do have locked files.

Do you have premium?

If you dont have Premium it should be fine then. It is the "Real Time Protection" feature that disables Unturned from downloading.

Idk XD I guess your settings are different than mine but for the people who do have this problem I have resolved it
