Trying to run resident evil 7

Im trying to play resident evil 7 on my pc. I am new to pc and this is my first game i have tried.
I have an i5 2500, gtx 1050 and 4gb ram. The game played smooth on high settings for the first coupke hours. But now it is stuttering and freezing too much to play. I even lowered the settings to 900p and lowered other setting but no luck.
Other games are working fine, so i believe everying is still functional. Am i wasting ny time trying to play this game on my system? Just confused why i could play for like 2 hours fine and now nothing.

Depends on how the RAM is used and where you were going when it started to have issues.

Also Resident Evil 7 has stutter problems even on way better hardware with more RAM.
There are some performance guides floating around that can help with it. When i played it i had to change 2-3 settings in the options, after that i had no stutter anymore for the rest of the playthrough. That was on a GTX 970.

its your ram bruh like dwamn no offense thats a tad too low. i have a i5-4690k, nvida 970 idk if its a gtx, and 16gb ram (just raided my old pc had been running 8gb before without much issue). you didnt notice at first most likely due to pc load, it was mostly graphics card or cpu load up until 2 hours in where you hit somewhere that was a lot bigger or more intensive and is stuttering because your cpu isnt being fed data at a fast enough rate to keep up with what the game needs. your ram is basically a middle man moving data from the hard drive to the cpu. Bear in mind that the minimum system requirement for the game is 8gb of ram (which is reccomended aswell)

HDD or SSD? and how old is it? i got a bad HDD when i built mine didnt realize till ♥♥♥♥ got horrible thought it had been my motherboard, you might just need a new harddrive. i went from being unable to run cod 4 right or even runescape and opera at the same time litterally even netflix was lagging and crashing, after cleaning up the drive it did preform somewhat bettter but i got a brand new 7400 rpm drive and everything is running ultrs graphics with ease.
