Email provider for Steam?
Hello, I am looking for an email provider to use with my Steam account, that

1) Offers two-factor verification using a secondary email address
2) Does not require a phone number to register

Does anyone know of any that offer both? Or in a pinch just 1)?

My current email provider does offer two-factor but only with a smart phone. So as things stand if my email provider gets compromised and my password to it stolen, then all the Steam Guards and wariness of only logging into sites with the Valve padlock etc, in the World won't prevent a possible hijack.

I believe Hotmail supports two-factor verification via email. They definitely do not require a phone number to register.

Thanks,

I'll check out Hotmail.

Does Gmail actually allow 2F to be set up with email? I know you can set it up with a phone. Though I'd be a bit wary of giving a phone number to Goggle. I'd be worried about whether I'll start to get an increase in sales calls or something :)

Yahoo, there is the two-factor verification, either with phone or email.

Unfortunately Yahoo! requires a phone, as of the last time I tried to create an account anyways.

When I created it didnt't require a phone, but it was some time ago, sorry if I am wrong.

Yahoo! definitely did not used to require a phone, but about a year back I tried repeatedly to register a Yahoo! account and couldn't due to the phone requirement. It might be country specific, or maybe it was just relatively recently that they changed the system. Doesn't hurt to try, anyways.

Yahoo's 2F is phone only isn't it? Their help makes no mention of 2nd email.

Yahoo is awful, use protonmail, tutanova, or startmail, you can try mailfence as well.
Meanwhile in 2023...

You can't do any of the secure email addresses.
